During the meeting of the Interim Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on auditing the use of funds transferred by the citizens of Ukraine in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and expenditures of the State Budget of Ukraine aimed to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, representatives of the Ministry claimed that over the period of one month there will be purchased 10 thousands of body armors of increased protection level “Korsar M-4” at a price of UAH 4 800 per one.
According to the representatives of the Defence Ministry, 84 thousands of high leg military combat boots (berts) were purchased since April, this year.
At the same time, members of the Interim Investigative Commission visited the ATO zone the day before and received complaints from soldiers regarding the quality of boots. The people’s deputies drew attention of the law-enforcement leadership to this problem.
The people’s deputies-members of the IIC named it inadmissible that the Defence Ministry has not yet established a single hot line for the military and soldiers’ mothers.
IIC Chairperson Iryna Herashchenko claimed that this question has already been raised by women, whose near ones are in the ATO zone, during the meeting with the President of Ukraine.
IIC members have also addressed the Government with a demand to allocate UAH one million for the purchase of X-ray apparatus, necessary for operating badly wounded soldiers in the hospital, pertaining to the State Border Service of Ukraine.
IIC members informed that they plan to present commission’s preliminary report during the meeting of the Parliament in August.
